Two very different kinds of archaeological holiday

Welcome to a most unusual travel company. Andante Travels is owned and runby archaeologists and we have been quietly creating our very special archaeological holidays for the past 22 years.

We’re proud to offer two different types of experience:

·          The original Travels in Archaeology - on which every detail is taken care of, leaving you free to enjoy a holiday in the form of an archaeological story.

·          Our new Bare Bones Tours for travellers who prefer less structure and the option of more independence.

Both kinds of holiday provide you with a real insight into the past, a sort of intellectual adventure led by intelligent, articulate and engaging people who are frequently also internationally recognised as the leaders in their fields.

Wine and Archaeology – a marriage made in heaven! Two of Britain’s leading specialists, Andante Travels and Arblaster and Clarke Wine Tours have chartered the superb tall ship – The Star Clipper.

The Independent recommends Andante
for an 'Expert Insight' into Egypt. In Harriet O'Brien's Complete Guide to the Nile, she suggests our 15 day tour in April and October. Guided by Dr Paul Nicholson, we will explore the great sites of Saqqara, Memphis, Karnak, the Valley of Kings and many more.

2007 feedback
Andante's overall customer rating for 2007 was an incredible 9 out of 10! Many thanks to all of our travellers who take the time to respond to the questionnaires we send after each trip. It's the best way we know to become even better this year...

Horses for Courses
According to Nick Trend, writing in the Telegraph last weekend, "If you want ...an archaeology tour, pick a company that specialises in the relevant field, not a broader-based operation that adds a few special-interest breaks on to a much more general programme." Sensible advice!
