The very things we travel to experience and enjoy
– landscape, society and cultural heritage
– may be endangered by our presence. Tourism
makes immense demands on environmental resources; we
need to protect the planet and our travelling may put
pressure on the places we visit. We consider
travel to be an immense privilege and we try to
maintain this impression on our tours.
Andante Travels was a founder member of both the Tour
Operators’ Initiative on Sustainable Tourism,
backed by the United Nations, and of the Responsible
Tourism sub-committee of AITO (Association of
Independent Tour Operators).
