8 days £1445 per person Next Tour: 01 September 2008 - 08 September 2008
Highlights

A chance to gain a much deeper insight into Roman life in The Bay of Naples:

·          A whole day in Pompeii to revisit your favourite parts or explore new areas

·          Special access to some houses on the site

·          Nola - prehistoric houses buried by an earlier eruption of Vesuvius

·          Boat trip to the island of Pithecusae (Ischia) including the faboulous museum

"I was aware ...that 'commercial tours' drifted through sites in minutes, whereas we were able to listen, wander and absorb (and feel quite smug!)."
 ...

The city of Pompeii cannot be fully explored in just half a day and everyone who visits comes away wanting to see more. The same goes for the whole of the Bay of Naples - there are many more sites than the obvious ‘must-sees’, all equally fascinating and revealing about ancient life here.

Based in our lovely hotel in the hills above the Bay near Cava di Tirreni, this is your chance to see displays relating to the prehistoric eruption of Vesuvius which buried a Bronze Age village at Nola; more well-preserved villas at Stabiae and Capri, and the amazing hidden underground features beneath Naples.

This is a programme designed for those who have been once, but need not exclude those visiting for the first time.
