Tourism Industry Carbon Offset Service (TICOS)

For the first time in 2009 we are not only off-setting all the carbon emissions caused by our own international flights, we are also paying to offset yours – at no extra cost to you.

TICOS is a voluntary industry wide programme to stimulate collective action by all travel and tourism businesses including air travel.   It is supported by a number of international and national agencies including UNESCO, IUCN World Commission for Protected Areas and the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO).

Income generated by the TICOS scheme is used to fund worldwide projects that both offset carbon emissions and have wider social and environmental benefits. All projects are independently verified and their progress can be tracked on the TICOS website.

Andante donates to TICOS to offset the CO₂ emissions caused by the 140 or so journeys of our staff every year.

You can also offset damage caused by air travel by your own contribution to TICOS of just £4 for short-haul journeys or £16 for long-haul.  Please consider contributing – click on their logo below for more information.  All you have to do is add the amount on to your total when you book.
