"You can... look at a photo for a second and think of it all your life..." — Joan Miro

At Andante, we know as well as anyone that travel photos are the perfect way to extend your travel memories. Do you have any photos from your travels — or are you planning an upcoming trip to a picture-perfect destination? If so, you'll be delighted to hear that we're launching the 2016 Andante Photography Contest!

The winner will receive a free place on an Andante study day of their choice, plus one from a choice of recently-released books: Mary Beard's SPQR, Michael Scott's Ancient Worlds, Barry Cunliffe's Birth of Eurasia or Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. Two runners-up will also receive a copy of their chosen book. All entries will be considered for feature in future brochures.

How to enter: Just e-mail your photo, with a sentence or two explaining where it was taken, to photos@andantetravels.com by 31 October 2016!  It doesn't need to have been taken on tour, but should relate to some aspect of world history — it might be an Austrian salt mine, a Roman fresco or a mosaic-wrapped minaret on the Great Silk Road. It could be an ancient temple on your doorstep, or a Byzantine tower half the world away. We just want to see beautiful photos that capture the essence of a place or a moment.

Terms & Conditions:
All entries must be received by 11.59pm on 31st October 2016. Rights of the images submitted must belong to the entrants themselves, and any featured individuals must have given permission for their image to be used. Previously published professional images (online or in print) are not eligible for the competition. Andante employees (past or present) are ineligible to enter. By entering the competition, you accept that Andante Travels may use your image/s in future digital or print campaigns (brochures, advertising, social media etc.). Winners will be announced in early December 2016. Open to UK residents only.
