Marvel at Northumbria’s phenomenal prehistoric rock art in sites that are often difficult to locate without the expertise of a guide. Enjoy bracing walks through majestic countryside around the Roughting Linn site and discover these intriguing rock carvings set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Cheviot hills.

2018 - Summer Scrambles

Traverse the amazing Hadrian’s Wall footpath, discover the Roman remains hidden in wild and beautiful terrain as we explore part of Northumberland National Park. Journey through the remote Northumbrian and Cumbrian fells, we can expect to walk up to 13 miles per day on this remarkable exploration of the legendary Roman frontier.

Hadrian's Wall

Join an expert archaeologist and explore hidden gems along the Ridgeway - the great hilltop track and Britain’s oldest road that originally connected the Dorset coast with The Wash in East Anglia - on our Uffington Walk - Archaeology in the Vale of the White Horse study day. The huge, enigmatic Bronze Age carving will be brought to life as we take in the picturesque Chalk downland hills setting.
