The country of Greece is one of the most-visited in Europe for tourists, especially during the summer season, and a holiday here makes it easy to see why. Sun-soaked landscapes, incredible local cuisine and warm, friendly people await on a Greek adventure, and that’s before you’ve even considered the wealth of history, culture and archaeology to be discovered here.

Wondering how Santorini was formed? How Greece influenced Rome? Curious about why Greece is painted white and blue? Join us there this year and find out the answers to any questions you may have, as well as why holidays to Greece are among the most memorable.

So, if you’re yet to make your way to this amazing destination, or if you’re looking for a reason to return, we’ve rounded up five places to visit in Greece!

1) Nemea

Visit the ancient site of Nemea in the company of the former director. According to legend, this is where Heracles fought the Nemean lion.

2) A sunset temple viewing experience

Along with a special sunset visit to the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, you’ll also tour the Corinth Archaeological Site in the company of its former director – a privileged experience for any lover of archaeology.

3) Meteora's majestic monasteries

Pay a visit to the spectacular, vertiginous monasteries of Meteora. Here, a number of monasteries are precariously perched upon enormous rock columns and visiting the Great Monastery is something you’ll get to do on this memorable tour.

4) A former leper colony fortress island

Take a boat trip across the clearest water, which glistens and waves in all shades of blue, to the stunning fortress island of Spinalonga. This was once a leper colony and was surprisingly used right up until 1962. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see a photobook from our Crete & Santorini tour.

5) Private access to a working archaeological site

Special access to the ongoing excavations at Sissi and a tour led by a member of the project team who work there, which will allow us to find out more about their latest discoveries.

6) Tour an excavation site with a staff member

Special access to the new excavations at Zominthos as well as a guided tour of the site led by one of the excavators themselves. Once a flourishing Minoan centre, our time here will give us a little more insight from experts about this fascinating civilisation.
