Itinerary 2019

Day 1

We meet at London’s Heathrow airport in the morning and check in for our flight to Dubai. Lunch will be on board the plane and when we arrive at our final destination, we transfer to our hotel and sit down to a late dinner. Then we can just relax in our rooms after a long day of travelling.

Day 2

This morning we depart by coach for an exploration of Dubai’s Old Quarter on foot. Known as Al Bastakiya, this area dates back to the 19th century and it boasts labyrinthine streets along with eye-catching architecture. We have lunch at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, where we spend time learning more about local culture, customs and religion. In the afternoon, we depart for the Opera House
where we enjoy a private reception and buffet on the terrace of the Sean Connolly restaurant. We enjoy a performance later.

Day 3

Our day begins with a walk to the Opera House, where we are treated to an exclusive backstage tour. Here, we can see parts of the building that are not usually open to the public, including dressing room areas and lavish suites. We stop for lunch at a local restaurant and then board a private bus for a sightseeing tour of Dubai and its incredible buildings. Later, we make our way back to the hotel where we can freshen up
before a group dinner. In the evening, we enjoy a walk back to the Opera House, where we sit in the audience for another stunning performance. Afterwards, we return to our hotel for the remainder of the night.

Day 4

An excursion to Al-Ain gets our day off to a fascinating start. It is the largest inland city in the United Arab Emirates and is known as the ‘Garden City of the Gulf’ due to its greenery. Witness avenues lined by palm trees, stunning parks and decorative roundabouts. Upon arrival, we pay a visit to the Al Jahili Fort. Established in 1891, this striking structure was created around an oasis to protect palm farmers. We take a break for lunch in the afternoon and then we drive to the Al Qattara Arts Centre for a hands-on workshop, where we learn the delicate and decorative art of calligraphy. From here, we return to Dubai and sit down to dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5

Today will be spent at leisure, which gives us ample time to explore parts of the city we haven’t already visited as part of this tour. Indulge in the incredible shopping at the phenomenal mall, which is also home to an underwater zoo and aquarium, sample local delicacies at restaurants or cafés, or just spend time soaking up the atmosphere. This is a truly unique city and we have been privileged to experience it in such a way - with such exclusive access. Tonight we watch another performance.

Day 6

Our final day of the tour has finally arrived and a free morning awaits us before we return to our hotel for lunch, which we eat together as a group. Later, we make our way to the airport and catch our return flight home.
