Itinerary 2019

Day 1

Catch a morning flight from London to Moscow. Upon arrival, we enjoy a group dinner and then transfer to our hotel.

Day 2

Our first full day starts with an introductory talk and then we depart for a tour of the city by both bus and foot. After lunch, we visit balalaika makers - a traditional Russian stringed instrument - and we are also treated to a private recital. After dinner, we take in our first stage performance of the week.

Day 3

Today starts with a drive to the Russian Folk Art Museum, which is filled with lacquered wood and stone objects. After lunch, we visit the Glinka Museum, home to rare and valuable musical instruments along with original scores, and we enjoy a tour of its captivating collections. Back in Moscow we sit down to dinner together as a group.

Day 4

A special experience awaits us at the Bolshoi Theatre. Designed by architect Joseph Bové, this is a truly historic venue and we are privileged to be invited backstage for a private tour. After lunch, we visit the Greater Church of the Ascension. We have an early dinner in the city and then we attend another rousing performance in Moscow.

Day 5

This morning we visit the Alexander Pushkin Memorial Apartment, where the poet spent three months of his family life. After lunch, we enjoy another live performance and dinner follows later.

Day 6

We tour the Tchaikovsky House Museum and enjoy a recital here. Return to Moscow for dinner at Café Pushkin, where traditional cuisine is served.

Enjoy a free time in Moscow to do some final sightseeing before we make the trip to London.
