Dr Mary MacLeod Rivett
Dr Mary MacLeod Rivett is a lecturer in archaeology at the University of the Highlands and Islands. She is a specialist in the Viking, Norse and Mediaeval archaeology of the North Atlantic, particularly the north of Scotland. Before settling in the Hebrides, Mary studied at Cambridge, York and Glasgow Universities, working on projects in Kenya, Sweden and Malta, as well as in the UK. She is particularly interested in early urbanism in Scandinavia, and social, cultural and economic sustainability in island societies in Scotland and elsewhere.
