Summary

An archaeological journey through time

This tour allows us to experience world class sites dating from the Roman era through to the Renaissance, which underline how important northern Italy was as a crossroads, not only between east and west but also north and south, becoming a breeding ground for artistic, industrial, and political endeavours. We explore a part of Northern Italy which is studded with UNESCO World Heritage Sites, while travelling by water allows us to appreciate not only the man-made jewels but also some spectacular natural sites. We will be exploring some of the most spectacular cities in the Veneto and Lombardy, including the little visited Brescia, Roman Brixia, which is a World Heritage for its Lombard remains, as well as the more famous Verona and Venice. The cruise allows us to explore the narrative of history of this region, from the Roman period to the spectacular Renaissance as exemplified by Mantegna’s masterpiece in Mantova’s Ducal Palace, from the wondrous vantage point of a cruise ship.

The price shown on this page is for a Main Deck Cabin. Please call to check availability for this cabin type or to upgrade to an Upper Deck Cabin. Click on VIEW FULL SHIP PAGE for more details about the ship, the cabins and what to expect onboard.
