Romania offers a fascinating and under-explored historical narrative which is uncovered by its photogenic and diverse remains. Colonised in the Greek period and famously conquered in the Roman era under Trajan when it became the province of Dacia, Romania has retained a sense of its Classical identity. However, it is also a land of mysteries and legends played out in a backdrop of amazing Gothic castles and medieval cities. This is a unique tour covering Greek colonies, notably the ancient city of Tomis, on the Black Sea, the Roman ruins – including the victory monument at Adamclisi celebrating the Dacian Wars - as well as the world famous Bran Castle, home of Vlad Dracul.
