Peru

Summary
Many people visit only the Highlands and the Sacred Valley in Peru but anyone with an interest in the past would feel disappointed if they did explore a little further. Little is heard in western Europe of the massive cities and brightly coloured temples around Trujillo, the mud brick palaces of the Chan Chan; the burial grounds at Sipan with layer upon layer of precious grave goods but these much earlier sites preserved along the Pacific coast are the most extraordinary in the world. A few days exploring these extraordinary sites alone would make your transatlantic journey worthwhile. Our tour combines both pre Inca culture and the famous sites of the Sacred Valley, the first part of the journey providing the cultural background from which the Inca Empire sprang providing both contrast and context.
